Belgian Baked started with a recipe book passed down through four generations of a Belgian family. Today, Anne-Laure brings those same recipes to the Western Cape, baking every waffle by hand with pearl sugar and imported Belgian chocolate.
No factory lines. No frozen dough. Just tradition, done properly.
Some of the Ingredients We Use
Pearl Sugar
Produced in-house, these crunchy sugar pockets caramelise inside the waffle. The signature of a true Liège waffle.
Vanilla Sugar
Made with real vanilla pods for a naturally warm flavour.
Dark Chocolate Callets
Chocolate callets, imported from Belgium. A favourite of Belgian chocolatiers.
Dark Chocolate Sticks
Imported from the best Belgian brand. These give bursts of taste in each waffle; every bite is an experience.
Light Brown Sugar
When the sugar bakes it caramelizes, giving the crisp character to the biscuits. This sugar gives the waffles their typical golden-brown colour.
Butter
We use real butter in all our waffles; it makes all the difference in taste. Nothing beats the rich flavour of butter.
Eggs
We use fresh eggs in all our batters; they are the glue that brings all ingredients together for that perfect waffle.
